Eid For Kids

As the crescent moon shows up in the night, the joy of Eid festivities get doubled. Actually, the celebrations start with the breaking of the dawn itself. The day begins and all have some snacks, then are performed the Eid prayers. The Eid are followed by the sounds of greetings from all sides. Muslims wish each other by saying "Eid Mubarak". But the utterance of these words brings a new wave of excitement among children. This is the time when gifts among loved ones are exchanged and kids get their 'Eidyah'.

'Eidyah' consists of a small amount of money that they spend in enjoying themselves on the festive day. Eid gives a nice opportunity to spend time with loved ones and create some memorable moments of lifetime.

They gather at home or go out in Eid fairs, which means a great time for kids too. Eid fairs have lots of activities for kids to indulge. There are big and small swings, jugglers, clowns, puppeteers and many other games in different stalls to amuse them. These fairs guarantee moments of cheerfulness for kids as well as adults.

At many places cultural programs are organized by kids and the funds raised with the help of them are donated into charity. Other than Eid Fairs, you can keep your child busy in creative work, that would not only help him or her pass their holisday, but would also develop their creative skills. Let them indulge in Eid crafts and help them make decorative items for your house. They would surely be delighted to see their individual participation in raising the buzz of jollifications at home.

With time, many traditions and customs have taken new shapes. Instead of giving them money in 'Eidyah', if you present them with gifts that they had always wanted. Or choose from the Islamic Story Cds to Eid songs CDs, you can gift them all so that they too get to know the richness of the culture they have born and are being brought up in. Make this Eid for little ones all the more mesmerizing so that they wait for nest Eid with same eagerness.
