Muslim Ramadan

India is a highly Diversified Country when it comes to Religion. The six main religions are:

Islam is the second popular religion in world with a thousand million followers. All those who follow Islam are called Muslims. Islam started in Arabia and revealed by Prophet Muhammad. Muslims believes that there is only one god called Allah.


Islam History
The place where Islam was originated is Saudi Arabia. Founder of Islam was Prophet Muhammad. The sacred book, building and places are The Quran, Mosque and Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem respectively. Main festivals of Muslims are:

  • Ramadan
  • Eid-Ul-Fitr
  • Eid-Ul-Adha

    Muslims follow lunar calendar. Muslim Ramadan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar. It is the month when Muslims Fast during the daytime. Muslims have meal twice a day, one before the sunrise called Suhoor and one after the sunset called Iftar. During Ramadan Muslims spend their maximum time to worship Allah. They recite number of prayers in a day, visit mosque. Muslims believe that the gates of Heaven (jannah) are open and the gates of hell (Jahanam) during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is believed to be the month during which The Holy book of Muslims (Quran) was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Ramadan when Celebrated in Dubai is said to be Dubai Ramadan and when in Egypt is said to be Egypt Ramadan


  • Muslim Ramadan In 2007
    Ramadan for the Year 2007 starts from September 14 and ends on October 13. Ramadan is decided only when crescent moon (hilal) is sighted. When the hilal is visible again during the end the of the month, it is the time for Muslims to celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr (Break the fast). Muslims visit mosque to pray on this day. They have a get together for all their friends and near and dear ones. Eid is celebrated by having delicious food together, chatting and spreading happiness and live around by wishing each other Eid Mubarak. Muslim children have a fun time on Eid when they wear new clothes and get sweets, gifts and lot of love from all their relatives.
